Given the relatively strong economy and shortage of skilled workers in many industry sectors the entry of skilled persons to Australia, both temporary and permanent, is important for the Australian Government. The Australian Government is focused on employer sponsored skilled migration in particular. There are state/territory government sponsored options for certain visa categories. There is also an emphasis on individual skilled migration for occupations in the health, engineering and IT fields.
